Giving this a go and REALLY hoping to get in... Never painted an owl before lol but I didn't feel right just posting a photo in there from google so I did the best I could. A revamp of my barn owl Matthias as a slightly less feathery human haha. When I saw a bird based art group I thought it was the perfect excuse to use my otherwise ignored boy so here he is.

Likes Making other people smile, cute things, scarves (he has a collection), heights, snow, food, Christmas, the color brown, spending time with his parents.

Dislikes: Uniforms (which is unfortunate given his schooling), heat, rain, the sound of Styrofoam rubbing against itself, homework, pessimists (they're harder to make happy), group projects with lazy partners, being alone.


Personality

Mattias is the sort that believes in formality and proper manners, as a result he's come off as pretentious from time to time. He rarely speaks to people on a first name basis and uses ma'am and sir more often than he probably should. Quiet and soft spoken he finds it hard to approach others, but if he sees someone in a poor mood he still does what he can to go out of his way and make them smile. This has been known to backfire on occasion but most often times he manages to muscle through even the worst of moods and brighten them into something warm and sunny. Eager to help even with things he despises he can often be found taking on more loads than he probably should and what's more tackling them with a smile on his face.

Biography

Born in Spain, Mattias' parents were often away on business and rarely home. He spent much of his childhood looking for any opportunity to spend time with his family, an only child raised more by a nanny than his mother and father. Lonely as he was he managed to entertain himself, often finding 'things' that were broken around him, and trying to fix them, which most often wound up being people. It was a habit that formed from an early age and continued on as he grew. And yet the one thing he couldn't seem to fix was the relationship he had with his parents. That is, until a fortunate opportunity arose. When a business opportunity brought his father and mother to Japan for an extended stay, Mattie was offered the chance to make the move with him. Finding himself desperate for both his parents approval and attention he studied the language fervently and intensively in the hopes of making a transfer. From time to time he still confuses words or accidentally slips in a word in his native tongue, but his comprehension is high enough that he can get by albeit with some difficulty, and so long as he gets into school he's looking forward to the opportunity to live close enough to see his parents regularly.
