In a world of skyscrapers
I feel so small,
overcast in shadows.

but I'm here...
can you see me?

Giants High above me
dont even have to try
to reach the sky,
for they are already there.

psst hey...can you see me?
I'm down here...

Baring my heart
to earn a few smiles
I may never be there,
shining atop unreachable skyscrapers...
I'm so small...
and the sky is so very far away.

But I'm okay down here...

under the shadows,
away from fame's light

All I ask is don't forget I'm here

I am the underdog,
quiet and unnoticed.

If you look closely,
maybe if you squint...

I'm down here

Ive been reflecting on a lot of things lately guys, about myself as an artist, and about the artists around me. I wrote this poem quite some time ago...before I was anybody...when I was nobody and felt like I could never reach the sky. Sometimes it always feels like its so far out of our reach but I firmly believe every artist feels this.

I happened to find the poem again the other day as I keep it around to remind myself...so I dont forget. And so I can let you all know you arent alone, and even with a tiny voice you can be heard. So don't give up and keep your eyes turned upward.

For the underdogs. This is for you. And meh luff goes out to all of you!

p.s. mini disclaimer. To those I might unintentionally offend. I do NOT think of myself as one of the skyscrapers...I do not feel like I've finished climbing...in fact if I were in the sears tower I feel more like I'm on the 8th floor. If I fell it would hurt like hell, but I'm still not even 10% of the way up...but climbing is always easier if you have others there to help you up and in turn I want to offer my hand to encourage and help others as well. THIS is the intent of this deviation, not to come across as insulting or snobbish. So please dont take all of this the wrong way when you see it...becuase I REALLY do not mean to offend anyone...
